CHENEY'S SPEECH FALSE TO FACT AND REASON

Here's what Keith Olbermann had to say about the speech yesterday by Dick "The Evil One" Cheney.

Wow! No one can say it like Olbermann. Nothing to add. He said it all.

Nancy - Yes, Keith pretty much covered the whole thing there.

Nothing you can say, post hoc, can reduce the impact of the Big Lie.

It's out there, and it's being repeated, and as long as that's true, it will take on--it already has--a life of its own, regardless of any rebuttal.

That's the genius of the Big Lie: even arguments offered to rebut it/them actually operate to add power to it/them.

I do not recall any 'former' member of a displaced "ticket" ever seeking, or getting, so huge a forum from which to criticize their replacements.

I wouldn't be at all unhappy if Cheney's rotten ticker quit on him, but it wouldn't make any difference now. The Lie is out there and being repeated, and that is all it needs...

So what's with all of these sudden appearances after months of - enjoyable - silence from Dick? Did they jumpstart his robot batteries again?

Riot Kitty - I think the only reason he's flapping his jaws now is because he's afraid he's going to find himself in prison someday and he's trying to build a defense to prevent that from happening.

We didn't hear word one from him for eight fucking years. I wish the fucker would go back to his bunker and die!

Woody - I hear ya. The lie is out and it's out to stay. Sad thing is, there's too many people who believe it.

I don't remember a former President or Vice-President stepping out and slamming their replacement like Cheney has. Johnson and Humphrey didn't do it to Nixon. Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, nor Gore did it to the next administration until time had gone by.

It's time for The Dick to STFU and go away.

Cheney is endangering the American people by trying to divide the nation. This is something that he has always done which shows weakness to our enemies. It is a United States of America that will keep us safe. Not a divided States of America.

Cheney is trying to build a defense for himself. What is also happening is that Cheney is saying things that can be used against him in a court of law and it's all digitally recorded.

It took at least one year to until the nation began to focus on the criminal activities of Richard Nixon. If the media keeps giving Cheney rope, he will hang himself.

Cats - Sad thing is...I think he may be doing this to taint any jury pool that would be called to serve at his trial. That may be his whole plan in a nutshell.
