What the fuck! Just because the guy is the veep the cops don't get to talk to him about why he shot someone?

From Buzz Flash:

Texas Sheriff Barred From Interviewing Cheney About Shooting Incident 2/14

More questions over delay in reporting the Cheney shooting. Did they need 24 hours to smooth over the truth? 2/13

"Of course, the question is not whether the Secret Service informed law enforcement, but whether law enforcement was permitted to speak with Cheney. As Talk Left notes, although the incident was an accident, it could constitute criminal negligence."

Be sure you read the Talk Left link above. You'll have to page down for the full post.

Let anyone else shoot someone and the cops would be on 'em like stink on shit! The first question? "Had you been drinking?"

I guess if you're the Dark Lord you get to go home 2000 miles and sober up first.

That sheriff had no balls to deal with power. Granted he has to live there, but he should have done his job.

You are so right. The very first thing they want to know is if alcohol was involved in any way.

The Sheriff should have called in back-up in needed to make sure he could do the job he should have done.

If my mayor or my governor tried to get away with this they would no doubt pull of their own hanging while blindfolded with their hands tied behind their backs.

I shudder to think what would happen to Mayor Ray Nagin if he did something like that.

Grandpa Eddie: I want to "accidently" shoot a person and then get the chance to turn the cops away from my door and tell them they can talk to me the next day... but not right now. Yeah right... in what universe could that ever happen?

Grandpa Eddie said...

I hear ya. If my gov had done something like this, the Republicans in well as the press... would have been all over it wanting to know why it happened and why charges weren't being brought against him. Btw, my gov's a Dem.

You're right. Nobody else would have been given 24hrs to a) let any alcohol present clear the system, b) get the story straight so everyone was on the same page.

I also found out last nite that Elmer Fudd's hunting permit didn't have the proper stamp for bird hunting...and he only got a warning. If that would have been one of us hunting without the proper permit we would have gotten a hefty fine at least...if not the loss of all hunting privileges.

But then, Elmer his buddy the chimp...are above the law. Just ask AG Algerto Gonzales, he'll tell ya.

ARe you surprised, Grandpa? I thought you were more jaded than that by now!

Pretty gross, the whole thing.

Hey - BTW, just FYI (ain't I great with acronyms?): The guy who writes as Esperanto Manimal at my site isn't Sasparilla - he's doing a parody of Sassy! Isn't that hilarious? So, please continue handing him his ass on a platter (I love it!) but don't let yourself get in a lather... he's a liberal imitating Sassy!

Get this: He (E.M.) actually posted at Sasparilla's blog, and Sassy liked him!

HA HA!! SOooo funnny. If you email me, I"ll tell you who it is!

I laugh every time I read that "FuddGate" nomiker...

so perfect

Grandpa Eddie said...

You're right, I really shouldn't be surprized at anything those demonic crooks do...anything at all.

Sent ya that email, patiently awaiting your response.

Yeh, Fuddgate is hillarious.
I saw one post last night that all it contained was..."Cheney, for the next thirty days you are ours."

Enjoying the "thundersnowstorm" today, Pops? lol

Methinks I won't have to go to work...

[waiting for that precious phone call]

We're gettin' all this shit now...and Friday nite it's supposed to drop to -7.

Ya just gotta love livin' in good ol' Sonsin.

... and as luck would have it, our stupid snowblower clonked on us - right when it was time to get to the end of the driveway.

2 feet of snowplow crap, dug out by hand

Grandpa Eddie said...

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, Mary and I were putting up shelving units last nite.

Anyway....I didn't even get the snow blower out yesterday. 2 in. of slush doesn't move well that way. Just cleared enough...with a shovel, keep the cars from getting frozen in, and to be able to get out on gravel instead of ice.

I here ya about the plow job. County came by here and rolled a big pile of thick slush into our aproach.

The weather sucks....and yet we stay. Why is that?
