Gordon - What can I say....I like the "old" stuff. Besides...with all the crap and bad news of late, I figured something a little light would be nice.

C'mon and admit it, you liked 'em.

I admit it.

I like your blog very much and plan on reading it daily.

Here's what I had to say about the Beatles once. You and I are the same age. One difference is I'm not a grandpa yet. I didn't get married till 15 years ago. My girls are 12 and 9 and the boy is 5.

Gordon - I knew ya did!

Welcome aboard mikeb302000, glad to have you along for the journey. The ride may get rough once in awhile, but we all make it through.

Thanks for the link to that post.

There's more than one difference between us....you're in Europe. I'd love to be able to move to France.

Just from experience...be glad the boy came last, he'll respect women (and his sisters) much more.

You brought a tear to my eye when you said this: "Just from experience...be glad the boy came last, he'll respect women (and his sisters) much more."

mikeb - I hope that was a good tear, because I didn't mean to offend.

Yes indeed, Eddie. It was that kind of tear that is pure gratitude for having read something that I'm very much hoping comes to pass.

The hope that my boy will respect women when he's a man is something I often think about. But, how to teach it, that's the question. First by example, of course, then when he's a little older by talking and pointing certain things out to him.

Your suggestion that the simple fact that he has older female siblings will help, had never occurred to me. It's beautiful and optimistic. Thanks.

mikeb - You're on the right track with the young man. Teaching by example is one of the best ways, if not the best, to teach him. The way you respond to, and treat, his mother is probably the best teaching instrument by which he will learn to respect women. Your daughters will also help greatly just by the way they show him love, and respect.

I am sure you will do fine with your son. That tear you got was enough proof for me that you really want to do the right thing and raise him to be a respectful person through his childhood and into his adult years.
