THE PASTOR AND THE KIDDIE PORN

This is for all those people who think that it's just the Catholic priests who are the deviates in the religious community. I'm not trying to defend those priests who have crossed the "line", I just want to point out that they aren't the only perverts in the "church"...anyone's church.

I find it unbelievable that a large majority of "christians" oppose gay marriage...and then this shows up in the news.

Thru one of the local TV stations:

Pastor Allegedly Downloaded Porn Pics of Young Girls
Updated: 7:07 AM Nov 16, 2005
Zac Schultz
Madison: A rural Mazomanie pastor has been officially charged with possession of child pornography.

Rev. Jerald Schara was unshaven as he made his initial appearance in Dane County Court. He's been in jail since his arrest last Friday–and he's now been charged with possession of child pornography.

According to the criminal complaint Schara confessed to detectives that he has been downloading images of pre–pubescent girls engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

The complaint says during one binge of downloading kiddie porn near Halloween Schara downloaded a Trojan Horse Virus that locked up his computer. When he took it to a computer shop to get fixed the technician found the child porn and called the Sheriff's Department.

Schara is already out on bond. "Mr. Schara you'll be released from jail on a signature bond. There are conditions of your release. You're not to have any unsupervised contact with any female juveniles," says Court Commissioner Todd Meuer.

Schara was pastor at both St. Paul's and St. John's Lutheran churches in rural Mazomanie. The Lutheran church has suspended him and is conducting an investigation. “We also need to deal with the issues around Rev. Schara and that does rest on my responsibility. There will be our own investigations and determinations about next steps there as well," says Lutheran Bishop George Carlson.

Schara and his family live in a parsonage near St. John's owned by the church. Bishop Carlson says the congregation will decide if Schara and his family will be allowed to stay there. One congregation member told NBC 15 he's heard that they will be asked to move out in the next couple months.

If convicted, Schara faces up to 3 and a half years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Some righties also have been bamboozled by false "studies" which claim most child molestation is performed by gays. It is NOT. The overwhelming majority of child molesters are straight males (oh, and that 37 year old who just eloped with her 15 year old student...).

If the Bush administration is so hell bent on torture... here's their compelling reason.

Grandpa Eddie: May I direct your attention to this site:
http://www.reformation.com/
It says on the home page:
Welcome to a collection of news reports of ministers sexually abusing children:

ALL Protestant denominations - 838 Ministers

147 Baptist Ministers

251 "Bible" Church Ministers (fundamentalist/evangelical)

140 Anglican/Episcopalian Ministers

38 Lutheran Ministers

46 Methodist Ministers

19 Presbyterian Ministers

197 various Church Ministers

No, it is not just a Catholic issue or problem. It is however a problem of men (predominately) who are pedophiles and who abuse their clergy position as predators of children. Notice the largest number outta that group falls into the EVANGELICAL category?

Helen,
How right you are. I have yet to hear of a gay person...man or woman...sexually asaulting a child of either his/her own gender or the opposite gender, or even downloading child porn as this guy is accused of doing.

Tiny,
I don't understand the connection you find between the Bush torture policy and this pervert. Please explain so I can. It may be something easy that I'm just missing.

Tina,
Thank you soooo very much for that link. I'm gonna go back and check that out in depth, one reason is to see how many more are in Wisconsin. Who knows, I may have come in contact with one...or two...over the years. Hope none of my kids did though.

Bad reference I guess. Maybe I should have been more specific.
"If convicted, Schara faces up to 3 and a half years in prison and a $10,000 fine."
That's getting off easy.
As bad as torture is it would be a good thing for child molesters and kiddie porn freaks.

Tiny,
Now I see what you mean.

You are oh so right, too. That is getting off easy. But I don't think torture is the right word to use in this case. More like primal justice...take him out back and beat the fuck outa him with a Louisville Slugger, and then lock his ass up for about 10 years with some big nasty mofo that has kids.
