BUSH'S NUMBERS DOWN, CHENEY'S WAY DOWN

Found this at Bob Harris.com by way of Buzz Flash:

Cheney now seven points behind the public beating of children
Thursday, 03 November 2005

Bush's approval rating has fallen to 35. Maybe America is starting to realize that secret prisons and endless war aren't really the best government we can possibly hope for.

Dick Cheney, in the same poll, has a 19 percent approval rating.

19 percent.

That's two points less popular than cheating on your spouse and seven points behind corporal punishment in schools (scroll down).

That's down in what can be politely called lunatic territory. As I've been pointing out for years, twenty or thirty percent of Americans believe any insane thing you can imagine.

Dick Cheney is now 18 points behind the number of people who believe alien beings have secretly contacted the U.S. government.

Bush, similarly, now trails the number of people who think astrology is scientific by five points.

Scottie McClellan, however, can still spin things: Bush only trails the aliens by two points.

Sheanc,
Good question. I wish I had a good answer for ya.

BTW, thanks.

And Cheney is 8 points or so lower than Nixon WHEN HE RESIGNED ...

Blogenfreude,
Yeah, doesn't that just blow ya away...a VP with that low an approval rating. VP's are usually low key and behind the scene, not out front like this ass has been. Then, of course, he's been pretty secetive about everything he does.

I gotta add one thing... I'll bet, and I really hate to say this, but I'll bet that these numbers mean nothing to the neocons because they know they can steal another election. God, I hope I'm wrong!

Sheanc,
I agree. They haven't shown any concern about any other polls, such as the 54% who feel we should bring the troops home now. The only time they even mention a poll is when it's one that makes them look good...probably why they haven't mentioned any for a long time.

"God, I hope I'm wrong!"

I, too, hope you are wrong Shea.
