From Cookie Christine:
President George W. Bush and the current administration have now borrowed more money from foreign governments and banks than the previous 42 U.S. presidents combined, which the Blue Dog Coalition in the House of Representatives called "astounding."
Throughout the first 224 years (1776-2000) of our nation's history, 42 U.S. presidents borrowed a combined $1.01 trillion from foreign governments and financial institutions according to the U.S. Treasury Department. In the past four years alone (2001-2005), the Bush Administration has borrowed a staggering $1.05 trillion.
The asshole couldn't keep an oil company solvent, and then ran the Texas Rangers into the ground while ripping-off the citizens of Houston. If that wasn't enough now he's trying to bankrupt the United States.

Bush has been a fuck-up at every turn. Vietnam War? Got daddy to handle the tough stuff and then Jr couldn't even handle that cushy gig... so he bailed on that responsibility. He drove every single company he was in charge of into the ground. If you and I had a resume like that and we tried to get a job that would allow use to have the power to declare wars and handle the economic reins of the most wealthy nation on earth, we'd be laughed outta the room..... yet Jr the WonderBoy gets the job... it really is who ya know and who sold you blow, now isn't it?
Tina,
You're right. It all depends on your station in life on what you can do or get away with. It's gotten to the point that freedom is only freedom when you have the money or connections to be able to aquire that freedom.
It's sad, because the United States does not stand for what it once did. The Constitution has become a piece of paper to be used and abused by those in power for their own benefit.
