DEATH BY RELIGION

Marx was right, religion is the opiate of the masses!

From the
BBC :

Riots kill 'hundreds' in Nigeria

Hundreds of people are reported to have been killed during religious clashes in the central Nigerian town of Jos.

A Muslim charity says it collected more than 300 bodies, after clashes broke out over disputed elections. It is not clear how many Christians have died.

There is no confirmation, but figures tend to be notoriously unreliable in Nigeria, says the BBC's Alex Last.

Police have imposed a 24-hour curfew and the army is patrolling the streets of the town of Jos.

The Nigerian Red Cross says at least 10,000 people have fled their homes.

The governing party in Plateau state, the PDP, which is mostly backed by Christians, was declared to have won the state elections.

The result was contested by the ANPP, which has support from Muslims.

It's not just the Muslims killing people in the name of their religion, Christians are doing it, too, and have been for two thousand years. Lest I forget....the Jews have been killing for their religion for five thousand years.

FUCK RELIGION!

ENABLING the ABUSE

Check this out. The pedophile priests in Milwaukee, WI had help from their former boss.

And these people try to tell us how to live.

From the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinal:

Ex-archbishop admits he put abusive priests in jobs

Retired Archbishop Rembert Weakland admitted in a video deposition released Wednesday that he transferred priests with a history of sexual misconduct back into churches without alerting parishioners.

The former archbishop acknowledged that he did so because "no parish would have accepted a priest unless you could say that he has gone through the kind of psychological examination and that he's not a risk to the parish."

While similar allegations have been made for years as the scandal rocked the Catholic Church across the country, Weakland's statements give a rare glimpse of how a top church leader dealt with allegations of sexual misconduct by priests.

Another negative mark for religion!

HAPPY DAYS

We Won!

Happy days are here again!

I don't think I've felt like this for sixteen years....check that, I know I haven't. How long this feeling lasts will depend on how things go from here.

Last night a new era began in the United States. I think the whole world breathed a sigh of relief. Pretty much everybody else wanted to see Bush and his handlers/cronies go. Didn't want to see McCain get in either. That would have meant just more of the same. It was time for a change.

I don't want to see Pelosi and Reid letting this victory go to their heads. I don't want them doing what the rethuglicans did when they were in control. 'Cause that would make them no better then the people they used to bitch about. It's gonna take everybody Both sides are going to have to work together! It's gonna take everyone working together to pull this country back up where it belongs. Remember, Bush didn't trash it overnite....not that he didn't try.

I am so happy that I got to vote for the first African-American President. History folks, we got to be part of a very big piece of our history.

A NEW DAY HAS DAWNED, HOPE IS STILL ALIVE!
